Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I pay? Do you take insurance?
    I offer self-pay and I accept insurance. I am currently in network for BlueCross and BlueShield, Oscar Health, United Healthcare, Oxford, Aetna, Humana, Medicare, and Cigna. For clients that are self-pay we keep a card on file that is charged after each session. If I am out of network for your insurance, I can provide you with a superbill that you can use to seek reimbursement from your insurance company.
  • Is there a cancellation fee?
    If you do not give at least 24-hour notice before cancelling or rescheduling, you will automatically be charged your session fee.
  • How long do sessions last?
    Session’s average 45 minutes. In some cases, we may go slightly over 45 minutes but I try to ensure that they end and begin on time.
  • How often do I have to come to sessions?
    Initially I encourage clients to be seen weekly to help establish your skills and will reevaluate the frequency as necessary. However, I strive to provide you with care that will fit your mental health and financial needs.
  • What does it mean to be a Geek/Nerd-Culture informed Therapist?
    A Geek/Nerd-Culture informed therapist incorporates fiction and non-fiction sources in a therapeutic manner. Often learning how to incorporate things an individual enjoys helps throughout the therapeutic process.
